I do often fear that situations like this will happen more and more with new generations… you know, incorrectly assuming that one version of something was the original. There are probably at least a handful of kids who heard Metallica’s Sad But True for the first time and assumed they stole the music from Kid Rock. In an age of music sampling, one can only assume this sort of thing will get worse. It’s not that people shouldn’t like these new things. It’s that they should know what they’re dealing with and maybe dig a little deeper. They might discover a whole new world of things they like and at the same time eliminate any chance of looking ignorant. I think that’s a worthy investment.
I seem to have contracted some kind of plague in the past couple of days. I was hoping to have thoughts on Sol: Exodus ready to go upon its release, but that just won’t be the case. It took all that I had to stay awake long enough to write the comic and this accompanying post. I have been playing it, and I feel safe saying it’s worth your $10. With a Wednesday the 25th release date, it will likely be available as you read this. Just go buy it.
