The Playstation 3 launched in late 2006, with a $600 price tag, half-assed ports of 3rd party titles, and only a handful of exclusives to speak of. Needless to say, the PS3 had a very rough start. Over the years they have stepped up their game with a handful of AAA franchises, full 3rd party support, and of course in-game-XMB.
Even with these improvements, there have been bumps along the way, most notably this summer’s PSN hacking which left the entire network crippled for over a month. We’re here this week with ign.com‘s Greg Miller to take a long hard look at the PlayStation brand. Where it’s been, where it is, and where we think it’s going.
