Gabe, you SERIOUSLY need to play the BIT.TRIP series. From what you said in this video, I think you’ll love it. These games are the single greatest example of telling a story through gameplay ever created. The compilation is only $12 (it’s on 3DS too, but I’d recommend playing it on Wii).

You’ll be tempted to breeze through all the games, or just hop in and out of each one to try them all out, but if you want the full experience, start with the first one, savor it, play it over and over, think about what it means, master it, and THEN move on to the next one.
